My name is Alaura Galeru. I'm a mother, a wife, full time office worker and a fully qualified personal trainer and nutritionalist with one desire (above many) to inspire others! We all have dreams and aspirations, somethings are out of our control, but getting the body and lifestyle you want is something you can take control of! As a working parent I know taking 'me' time can sometimes take the back seat...but improving your health, mentality and overalll wellbeing not only shows on the outside but it shines from the inside too! And teaching yourself 'what' and 'how' to be healthy is the best way to teach your children.
I started out on endless rounds of cardio eating nothing but fruit, I tried the atkins diet, and the special K! I lost weight for small period only because I had put my body on a calorie deficit, but as soon as I would eat something more substantial I would put weight back on. I would always hit a wall where no matter how much cardio I did I still hadn't achieved that 'toned' look I would see in magazines.
It wasn't until I studied and qualified as a personal trainer and nutritionalist that I realised the importance of a balanced diet and the correct training program..I was able to achieve the results I wanted, removing my cardio and reducing the amount of time in the gym meant I could take more time for myself!
From there I have competed in multiple bodybuilding competitions, even during my pregnancy and after birth by applying the same approach to my diet and training I was able to have a quick (30 min labour) birth and bounce back to my pre-pregnancy body! Without injury and without sacrificing mine or my baby's health.
Now I compete in bodybuilding competitions because I love having a goal! I love meeting people who see what I have achieved and inspiring them so they can do the same. Life is too short to not reach your dreams, I can't help you win the lottery! But your dream body, I can definitely help with that!
